School suspends cancer-survivor boy for growing hair for Locks of Love
Fri Jan 27, 2012
My mom died of ovarian cancer, and one of the hardest things for me to see was mom without any hair. A man who is bald is considered folically challenged. A woman who is bald has cancer.
A question of freedom for chimpanzees who spend lives in research labs
Fri Jan 27, 2012
This story makes me cry. There has to be another way. Rosie and Ken deserve better than this.
Atheist teen forces school to remove prayer from wall after 49 years
Fri Jan 27, 2012
Here is a simple solution to what, in my eyes, should not be a problem in the first place. Remove the following from the sign and it's really no longer a prayer. It's a school motto. Our School Prayer....Heavenly Father..................Amen.
Cops: Man, 65, kills teen who knocks him off bicycle
Thu Jan 26, 2012
The fact that this man was carrying a gun is an indicator that he probably knew this particular path was not safe. It is clear that these three kids probably have a reputation already for getting into trouble as the one one who was not shot as placed in a juviniel facility.
Arizona governor, Obama in 'tense' exchange over book
Wed Jan 25, 2012
The Governor was way out of line when she started to use that pointing finger as if she was reprimanding the President. Like it or not, Ms. Brewer, he is the president and you are the governor of a state who has an immigration problem.
What did you think of President Obama's State of the Union speech?
Wed Jan 25, 2012
He speaks from the heart and from the brain, and says it like it is. Statistics show that debt under Obama is minimal compared to GWB.
Evicted woman, 101, can't go home as promised
Sun Jan 22, 2012
My heart aches for this woman. One of the hardest things to accept when you're elderly is that you are no longer capable of living on your own in your own home. That said, shame on the son who let this happen to his mother.
Gingrich ex-wife claims he sought 'open' relationship, candidate won't say 'anything negative'
Wed Jan 18, 2012
Divorces happen and many are for the better. But Newt has made divorce an artform by first divorcing wives who are seriously ill. Secondly, his affairs occured while he was still married.
Gingrich says he paid 31 percent in taxes last year
Wed Jan 18, 2012
None of the Republican candidates for President thrill me in the least, but what Newt is doing right now is shady. It may just be that Newt had to pay the 31% tax rate because of income gained from speeches or consulting.
Underwater views of the cruise ship Costa Concordia
Mon Jan 16, 2012
I don't know if I'll ever go on a cruise, but if I do, I'm packing my own life boat. Heck, you can get some that fit in a duffle-sized bag, and when you open them they automatically inflate.
